Is rightly dividing accepting some things, and rejecting others?

QUESTION:

“Rightly dividing the Word” doesn’t mean to divide the word against itself, accepting some things, and rejecting others, (I guess because scripture is faulty).

In 2 Timothy 2:15, Paul is instructing Timothy to rightly divide the word of God. Scholars defines ‘right division’ as to handle correctly, to set forth truthfully. So, we are not to divide it up, but unite it together bringing it all in context. The correct understanding is that they must agree.  To do so, some people desperately need the Holy Spirit’s guidance as to how to do this, not throwing away Paul for Jesus, or the other way around. Both need to be united together to be produce correct doctrine.

ANSWER:

Dear reader, if scripture is faulty then it is in the faulty interpretations of the mind of man! Let God be true and every man a liar. I agree that dividing the word is not accepting some things and rejecting others. The whole Word is the full counsel of God and the whole Word provides us the full context of God’s salvation plan. I do not reject anything in scripture. As a matter of fact, you need both programs to fully comprehend the wisdom of God’s Word. If you only spend time in Paul’s doctrine, you will never see how it fits into the greater plan of God, and you’ll never know your part in His plan,

Eph 1:10  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: .

As another example, notice what Paul says in his Romans letter,

Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you …

  1. according to my gospel,
  2. and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery [doctrine], which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest,
  3. and by the scriptures of the prophets,

… according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

In order to make one stable in the faith, one must know and understand (1) Paul’s grace gospel, (2) the mystery doctrine, AND (3) know how it differs to, and complements the scriptures of the prophets. One cannot reject any part of God’s Word, and all of scripture provides the stability one can experience in one’s faith.

The dividing of scripture is not to reject scripture, but to keep it separate. ‘Separate means to divide’. It cannot be interpreted any other way! We practice the mystery doctrine revealed to Paul since that is our doctrine and is relevant and specific for us today. We don’t reject the prophecy program, BUT we also DO NOT unite it, as you suggest. The church is uniting the two programs today to great controversy. The problem in the church today is directly due to trying to bring these two separate doctrines together. The two doctrines form the ‘big picture’. They are two pieces in the same puzzle that connect to each other and show us the full image of God’s wisdom, but they are NOT the same piece!

The two programs have different info, for different people groups. They operate with different principles, one in law and one in grace. One is physical and the other is spiritual. They have different destinations. Yes, the two programs coexist in the same plan of God, but they remain two separate ‘puzzle’ pieces that have different images on them that contribute to the final image.

I hope that analogy clarifies it for you.
