Romans: A general outline of the Romans foundation of salvation, justification and sanctification. Of critical note it the lessons of walking by grace and faith, avoiding the flesh and the law. Romans 5, 8 and 12 are key chapters that conclude valuable foundational leassons learned in the chapters that precede them. What really happens when you accepted Jesus Christ? What happens AFTER the salvation experience?

Image
The content below discusses what happens AFTER salvation. One must first experience salvation before the rest of this post becomes applicable. In order to understand salvation and what it entails, please read the following,  About Salvation . Now, back to the question: What really happens when you accepted Jesus Christ? What happens AFTER the salvation experience? There are a few things that happen IMMEDIATELY after salvation. I cannot confirm any specific order to these happenings, but I'll arrange them in an order I perceive as logical. At salvation, one is instantaneously sealed into the family of God The word  sealed  in the New Testament comes from a Greek word that means  "to stamp with a private mark"  in the interest of keeping something secret or protecting or preserving the sealed object. Being sealed is a permanent mark of verification of ownership. Ephesians below says, " When you believed , you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Hol...

Do our sins matter if we are under grace?

Consider this practical analogy.  Both a pig and a sheep can fall into a mud hole. The pig remains perfectly content in the mud because it is its nature to roll in the mud. The sheep is not content to roll in the mud because it is contrary to its nature. It wants out as quickly as possible because living in mud is uncomfortable, unpleasant and weighty when the mud saturates its wool. Similarly, if a believer truly possesses the divine nature within them, they will be uncomfortable around sin, and sin will be unpleasant and feel weighty on their spirit because it is contrary to their new nature. Dealing with the inevitable question: What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Shall we sin knowing that we are entirely justified through Christ in the sight of God? Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more , 21 so that as sin reigned in death, ...

What does it REALLY mean to be 'In Christ'?

Read the shaded verses below slowly and carefully and then compare the first two verses to the last three. There is a HUGE difference in how Paul describes the believers at Corinth. 1 Cor 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, 1 Cor 1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God —and righteousness and sanctification and redemption — 1 Cor 3:3 ... for you are still carnal . For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? 1 Cor 5:1 It is actually reported that there is fornication among you , and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father's wife! 1 Cor 5:2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned,...
