If 1Jn3:8 is true, then it appears Jesus failed his mission.

STATEMENT: Christians are baptized and therefore they have the holy spirit, the father and the son (trinity) but their hearts are rotten, minds and hearts are corrupt and useless. So, Jesus who talked about baptism lied to the world because anybody who has a bad heart will follow Jesus and his father the serpent to the underworld. 1John 3:8 says that he son of God came to destroy the serpent and all his works, but the devil is still tormenting the world. Therefore, Jesus' death and resurrection was useless. ANSWER: The first advent of Jesus was to die for us, taking upon Himself the sins of the world. Although Satan still is the god of this world, Jesus defeated the works of the devil by opening up a way for us to be reconciled with God if we choose to believe in Him. So, the first part of the destruction of Satan is done. This is why the Bible tells us we live by faith today, because in order to be safe from the wrath of God when Jesus comes again, we must believe in Him today. Th...

Does John 3:1-5 teach that a person must be baptized in order to be saved?

Yes. That is correct for that time. Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The advice Jesus gives Nicodemus does point to water baptism, and spirit baptism. There were conditions for salvation in the Kingdom gospel. In Acts, we see Peter preaching the same thing, Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. So, for salvation in the Kingdom gospel, it required faith in Jesus as Messiah and also to be water baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. These were requirements to enter into the Millennial Kingdom when Jesus would come again in the Second Coming. The reason for these requirements is because of their significance for Israel. In Deut. and Lev., priests were washed to cleans them of sins before the ministered to God on behalf of the people....

Are there contradictions in the Word?

COMMENT: Paul says that dead in sin we are saved by grace. That means even sinning your saved. Then in Hebrews which is accredited to Paul, he says after knowing the truth, if you sin, there is no longer a sacrifice for sin. Just damnation. The bible is a contradiction.  REPLY: You are not taking the following into consideration. Even if Paul wrote Hebrews, the point is that Hebrews is NOT written to the Body of Christ. You cannot take doctrine from Hebrews and mix it with Paul’s 13-other epistles, which are all addressed clearly to Gentile churches. The book of Hebrews is not concerning Gentiles, but concerning the new covenant for Israel. As "Romans" is the foundational doctrine for the grace believer today, "Hebrews" is the foundational doctrine for Jews in the 7-year Tribulation. The epistles could not have been named more clearly. RETURN COMMENT: Clearly that makes no difference that it's a contradiction. Paul contradicts himself which means there's a ...
