Does God send good people to hell if they don't believe in Him?

Do you think the God you believe in would send perfectly good people to Hell just because they don’t believe in Him?

God is a God of LOVE, and that is proven in no small means by Him choosing to sacrifice His only beloved Son on the cross to save us.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The point is that God DID EVERYTHING He needed to do to provide us salvation (The scripture above confirms that!). So, the choice about heaven or hell therefore lies with us. The ball is in our court!!

In addition to this, the truth is clear that salvation is not in what we DO (Eph.2:8–9). Why would God send His Son to die for us if we could earn salvation ourselves in what we DID??? No! We are sinners and there is NOTHING we can do to earn salvation. Since this is the case; Jesus Christ came to DO what we could not; live a righteous life on our behalf so that His righteousness could be imputed to us, and our sin could be nailed to His cross (Col.2:14).

So, with this said, let's review the question again,

Do you think the God you believe in would send perfectly good people to Hell just because they don’t believe in Him?

• "Perfectly good people" —— This does not mean anything! We are all sinners. God provided the means of 'good' for us in His Son.
• "Because they don't believe in Him" —— The requirement for salvation is to believe in His Son and what His Son did for us. The essence of salvation lies in Jesus Christ. Put another way, Jesus Christ IS our salvation (John 14:6). If you dismiss that, it is not God who is trying to send you to hell, it is your own choice to want to go there!

God's love for you has already provided you a way to escape hell, FREELY!! Just believe in Jesus Christ and acknowledge His cross-work by responding by faith to the grace gospel.
