Are hell and the lake of fire the same or not?

Hell and the Lake of Fire

Answer Request:

I have something I am wrestling with and have wondered if anyone has done any further studies on it: HELL and The lake of Fire:

According to Revelation 20:13-15...Hell and the lake of fire is not the same:

Rev.20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

As far as my understanding on the topic; hell and the lake of fire are two very different locations. Please note that there is much more detail to this topic, but I'll keep my answer short and plain.

The word "hell" is translated as "grave" in both the Hebrew ("Sheol") and Greek ("Hades") languages. Hell therefore is a reference to the grave, which represents temporary death, or sleep, or an unconscious state of inactivity.

Ecc.9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

The lake of fire is a location which is reserved for judgement. It is a place of permanent condemnation and separation from God, and the FINAL destination for Satan, all fallen angels, and all lost (rebellious and unbelieving) human souls, as your verses in Revelation indicate.

Something extra:

I'll throw a spanner in the works by providing my conviction and views based on our death experience (that is, us, as members of the Body of Christ under grace today). Our death experience is different from all other Old Testament and Kingdom saints. Because we are "the body of Christ", when Jesus died, we died! When Jesus was buried, we were buried! When Jesus rose from the dead, we were resurrected! In other words, Christ's death, burial and resurrection was imputed (accredited) to us and in God's books, we have already experienced death (the grave) through Christ. This means that we do not sleep in the grave (unlike other saints from other dispensations). When we die, we are instantaneously transferred to heaven and are in the presence of God from that point on.

(One must understand that the Body of Christ, you and I saved by the grace gospel, are a VERY unique bunch of saints!! We are ALREADY complete in Christ.) All other saints who sleep in the grave today will experience resurrection in the future at Christ's second coming, thus escaping the temporary grave of death. All lost souls will be resurrected 1000-years after Christs second coming to face judgement and be condemned to the lake of fire.
