Errors that occur if One does not Rightly Divide

Comments from an anonymous party based on the following scripture:

1Cor.13:8-12 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Dear reader, what I wrote afore becomes clearly evident when you understand and apply the requirement of right division in the Word, according to 2Tim.2:15. Israel is to be merged into or blended with the doctrine of Grace. They are separate programs and doctrines altogether. Let me point to some things that you write:

COMMENT:

Acts 2:39 says the gifts of the Spirit are for that generation, the next, and all to come.

MY REPLY:

Peter was addressing Jews on that day of Pentecost. A large portion of what Peter was quoting was from the prophet Joel which is in reference to Israel in their last days.

  • Act 2:14 Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem…
  • Act 2:22  Ye men of Israel, hear these words;
  • Act 2:29  Men and brethren,
  • Act 2:36  Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly,

You cannot slot in Gentiles here as Joel's prophecy has nothing to do with Gentiles. It concerns Israel and their Kingdom program.

COMMENT:

There is absolutely NO transition period for the original church except for the rapture.

MY REPLY:

The original Jewish church of Acts was suspended because Israel failed to believe. God blinded them and turned to the Gentiles. This suspension of the Jewish church and the rise of Paul’s ministry is the transition period of Acts. How do you justify Acts 15 (Jerusalem Council) and Galatians 2 (The two gospels for two people groups, circumcision and uncircumcision). In addition, there is a ton of other scriptures to prove two separate programs in the New Testament. Prophecy and Mystery, Law and Grace, Israel Blinded, The Rapture, etc… Besides a transition from Israel to Gentiles, it will occur again from Gentiles to Israel when the tribulation starts. If you account for right division, this becomes as clear as daylight.

COMMENT:

- Knowledge has not ceased. In fact, it's required to teach those that have never encountered Christ.
- Prophecy has not ceased or else the very book of Revelation is obsolete.

MY REPLY:

The very knowledge we teach today is from the completed canon of scripture, the Bible. I would not trust any knowledge that comes from the mouth of humans unless it is confirmed by the written Word. The gospel is contained in the written Word. It is this that is taught to people who have not encountered Christ.

Regarding prophecy, please note that it is in THIS dispensation that prophecy is suspended (as well as the word of knowledge). We do not need it as we have the full counsel of God in our hands. The article above does not say that prophecy and giftings are ceased for the rest of time. It is ceased within this dispensation of grace. After the rapture, God reactivated Israel and the Kingdom program. Prophecy, words of knowledge, signs and wonders and all other spiritual gifts are reinstated as these belong to Israel.

COMMENT:

Prophecy in the sense that it is implied, is for the edification of the local congregation to expose those that are deliberately hiding sin.

MY REPLY:

Prophecy in the local church today is little more than words to encourage, edify and comfort (1Cor 14:3). There is no special abilities, foreknowledge or foretelling involved here. In other words, prophecy is nowhere near to that which was demonstrated in the early church. This gift was necessary for the equipping of saints since the written Word was not yet available. Today, biblical prophecy is not in operation.

Bottom line. If you mix up the doctrines from the two programs of Kingdom and Grace, it will produce a false narrative. All that can come from a mixed doctrine is confusion, contradictions, and practices that deviate from the truth. The Word will become a lot clearer and accurate if you simply keep Israel and the Body of Christ separate.
